VOLUNTEER

Ready to Love Creatively?

We are a small and mighty team that depends on volunteers like you to make the world a bit more beautiful for trauma survivors. We have a lot of opportunities to get involved with behind the scenes happenings like graphic design, research, and event planning, and there are ways to get involved with our Healing Arts trainings. Please check out our current opportunities listed below and then complete the volunteer form so we can be in touch.

Announcement | First Aid Arts Info Session & Orientation

Have you attended a First Aid Arts training or event and want to get more involved? Have you heard of us and want to learn more? This informal information session will be an opportunity for new and old volunteers to get to know each other and us as an organization, as well as learn more about potential volunteer opportunities and how to be a more informed and prepared FAA community member! It's important to us that you feel like we hear you when you say you want to help, and that we are pushing you towards experiences and opportunities that interest you.

So! We are holding an informal volunteer orientation & info session...

WHEN?
Tuesday, September 12th from 6:15pm-7:45pm

WHERE?
The Pocket Theater (8312 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103)

WHAT TO BRING?
Just your beautiful selves!

Refreshments and other goodies will be provided! We'll play a game or two, talk about what things look like for First Aid Arts right now, and touch base about what all of you are passionate about helping with. Whether you're brand new to FAA or a seasoned volunteer, this is an opportunity to get to know us and each other, making our healing arts community even stronger.

Please RSVP by Friday, September 8th by emailing info@firstaidarts.org.

Note: We strongly encourage anyone who would like to volunteer this year to attend the information orientation.

Thank you for your interest in the work we do, we look forward to seeing you soon. Stay tuned for more volunteer opportunities. Feel free to throw any questions, concerns, thoughts, etc. to info@firstaidarts.org.

Ways to Get Involved...

TRAINING & EVENT SUPPORT
We hold trainings in different regions of U.S. and internationally, as well as host community events/fundraisers and trainings here in Seattle. We’d love your help to live out our values of hospitality, beauty, and professionalism at each and every First Aid Arts training! As an event team member you'll help set up and tear down space for events, greet attendees and process registration or other logistics, serve food and refreshments, photograph or help run activities, and support the FAA staff as needed. This is a fun, hands on role that gives you a first person experience of our work.

PROJECT BASED ASSISTANTSHIPS
Is there a specific aspect of First Aid Arts you are looking to help out with? Do you have ideas about how we can improve? Do you have a skill set applicable to the work we do? We are very excited to talk with you more about how we can work and learn together. If this is something that interests you, please let us know in your inquiry form and we can further the conversation. Departments that you could contribute to include Resource Development, Communications, Media and Technology,  Video and Graphic Design and Publicity and Outreach.

FUNDRAISING
Join our volunteer based fundraising team to assist with grant research , grant writing, crowd-sourcing, database management, and donor outreach.

WORK PARTIES /  TASK FORCE
Every once in awhile, we need a little help with preparing for trainings and completing organizational tasks. When we need some extra volunteer power, we’ll send out an email to those on our volunteer list and hold a work party where we can work together on these tasks, hang out, connect, and create.

BE A FIRST AID ARTS AMBASSADOR

Extending the FAA Community : As we are a small organization, the best gift you can give to us is helping to get the word out. We will periodically hold social media campaigns to promote self care and creativity, as well as raise funding for our trainings. We would love for you to reach out to your communities and tell them why healing through the arts is meaningful to you. Use the hashtags #lovecreatively #firstaidarts #wearefirstaidarts when you post to give us a shout out!

Throw an art party : Get a group of friends together and introduce them to the healing arts through our website or your own personal connection to our work. Make dinner together, discuss what self care means to you, create something as a group or have everyone make something different, jam on your instruments, play charades, remember what it means to be a creative and artistic being.
